Whew! What a great busy weekend we had! Loved getting to celebrate Josh’s birthday on Saturday with friends and then with family on Sunday.
Friday night when we got off work we went to Sprouts to pick up food to grill on Saturday night. We absolutely LOVE their burgers! Also picked some food for meals for us to make this week. On the menu… Asian flank tacos, pulled pork sandwiches with homemade BBQ sauce, and chicken spinach flautas. I am super excited about tomorrow night though, I am meeting a one of my friends (and bridesmaids 🙂 ), Katie, for dinner at Chefs Point!! Wohoo!! I haven’t seen her since she has been back from Tech and I can’t wait to catch up!
Saturday, I got up early with the dogs so the birthday boy could sleep in (he usually always gets up with the dogs on the weekend and lets me sleep in) then we proceed to clean the house because we were having people come over to grill and watch the UFC fights. We had a blast just hanging out with friends and eating food (it’s what I do best ha-ha). Jessica made the best lemon cupcakes ever for Josh!!
Sunday morning we got up early and got ready to hit the lake! We drove out to Lake Lewisville (got there a little to early) to go on a catamaran that was going to serve brunch. Because we got there so early we sat down at the pier restaurant and sipped a mimosa and Bloody Mary. Then we got on the boat, which was one of the coolest things ever! It has a restaurant and bar area inside where we could sit and eat out breakfast, which was fabulous! We had fresh fruit, potatoes and peppers, onions and sausage and homemade omelets! Then we moved up to the front of the boat which had chairs and bean bag type things to hang out on. We sailed for about 2 and half hours and it was the PERFECT day for it too! If you are looking for something fun and different to do, look up these catamaran rides on their website Bigdcats.com. I would totally recommend it!
We finished up the night going out to eat with Josh’s sisters family and my family at Brixx Pizza in Roanoke. So yummy! One of out favorite places to eat in Roanoke.
Thats all I got for now, next weekend will be just as busy and I cant wait for Josh to see my birthday gift to him .
PS. I told my friend Clay that I would give him a shout out in today’s blog, so here’s to you buddy! Hope this one makes you smile as much as all my others ones do 🙂
